With over twenty years of experience in delivering environmental education, we find that both teachers and pupils are often curious about the journey that has shaped Green Up Your Act. Our story is rooted in a combination of education, volunteering, and determination—each playing a vital role in where we are today.
Our sessions explore a wide range of topics, including sustainable materials, food production, habitat conservation, and renewable energy. These themes help to showcase the breadth of career opportunities within the growing environmental and sustainability sectors, giving students valuable insight into future pathways.
We would be delighted to share our experiences with you and your pupils, offering real-life insights into careers in sustainability. Through storytelling and discussion, we encourage students to reflect on what inspires them, helping them to focus their interests, build relevant experience, and develop their individual talents.
This session is designed to support pupils in their thinking as they embark on the path to forging their own careers. When booking the talk teachers are also invited to choose a creative craft outcome to enhance the session.
“The workshop on sustainability related careers was superb! Philip was an engaging presenter who ran through his own fascinating journey in finding his way to starting Green Up your Act. The workshop was full of little gems of advice for the students to take away with them. They all thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, as did I. Thank you so much for your time, we will be booking you again!”

Pupil Comments
“I loved the Green Up Your Act workshop! Philip was so enthusiastic and informative and gave such good careers advice. It was so interesting to hear about how he started up his organisation.”
“I really liked how you could get involved in the workshop and make something. The notebook is so cool, I’ve been using it for my personal notes.”
A lovely piece of feedback from the sustainability and careers presentations delivered in June for the Goethe–Institut Green Career Roadshow.
“Thank you for taking the time to show me your presentation. Your passion for sustainability is inspiring, and I’m sure you encouraged many of our students to see the exciting opportunities and positive impact a career in the green sector can offer, while combining sustainability with German in such an engaging and innovative way.”
