Earthship Brighton is an award winning off-grid building that heats and powers itself from the sun and harvests its water. Over a period of four years Green Up Your Act worked with the Low Carbon Trust to run the schools programme there, revealing the many aspects of innovation that make the building so significant.

In our 20 minute assembly we take pupils on a virtual tour of the Earthship’s impressive range of sustainable technologies including solar panels, wind turbines, rainwater harvesting and the eye-catching recycled materials used in the construction of the building. Rich images, videos and lively Q&A with pupils draws together many environmental technologies and principles into a single building. All Key Stages will leave the assembly feeling inspired and wanting to know more.
